Studio Policies & Expectations

All dancers must arrive to class on time and be dressed in appropriate attire.

Hair

Hair must be pulled back and out of the face. Ballet students should have their hair in a bun.

Class Attire

Form fitting clothing is required for dance. Clothing with zippers, baggy shirts/sweatshirts will NOT be allowed in class. Students may wear leggings, crop tops, tank tops and form fitting t-shirts to class. Ballet students are required to wear tights and a leotard.

Footwear

Dancers are required to have appropriate shoes for class. Please write dancers' name inside of their shoes. We understand that students may have different colors and styles of shoes. The list below is what will be required for our end-of-the-year recital. We ask that when it is time to purchase new shoes, you follow this guide:

Ballet: Pink or flesh-toned ballet shoes
Tap: Black tap shoes
- Level 3 and 4 students: black Oxfords
Lyrical/Contemporary: lyrical pads or barefoot
Acro: barefoot
Musical Theater: please inquire
Jazz: Black jazz shoes

Attendance

Attendance is very important for the development of each dancer. We understand that events and illnesses occur. Please schedule a make up class if class is missed.

Tuition

Tuition is due on the first of the month with a 7 day grace period. After the 7th a $5.00 late fee will be charged. Tuition paid after the 15th is subject to a $15.00 late fee. Returned checks are subject to a $30 fee. Monthly tuition payments are due September - June. A one-time registration fee ($15 for one dancer or $25 per family) is charged each year which enables us to secure a venue for our annual recital.

Holidays & Closures

The LAB Dance Complex will be closed for the following holidays, and events:

Thursday, October 31
Wednesday, November 27 - Saturday, November 30
Monday, December 23 - Wednesday, January 1
Tuesday, April 15 - Monday, April 21
Monday, May 26

If the LAB Dance Complex closes unexpectedly for weather or an emergency, a list of make up classes will be
provided to you.

Zero Tolerance

The LAB Dance Complex has a zero tolerance policy with regard to bullying and gossiping. All dancers and parents/guardians are to treat others with kindness and respect. The LAB Dance Complex reserves the right to terminate a contract at any time if poor behavior or bullying occurs.Please be respectful of teachers and staff.

Personal Belongings

All belongings are to be brought into the dance studios during class. There is ample storage space in each studio and this ensures that lobby seating, free from trip hazards, is available for caregivers and dancers not in class.

Facility Use

Students may stay in our lobby areas during breaks and can utilize our cooler and microwave. Please clean up after yourself to keep our studio clean and happy. Please do not leave young dancers or siblings unattended in our lobby. Our staff is not responsible for your child in the waiting areas.

Safety

Safety is our number one priority! The doors at The LAB will be locked when classes are in session and no one is staffing the front desk. If the door is locked and you need to enter the building, please text or call the studio phone at (845) 489-0271, say your name, and that you are at the front door. We are in the process of installing a buzzer/doorbell and camera for the front door so that we can buzz you in if no one is at the front desk. Until this project is complete, please call/text. The Hudson Plaza is monitored 24/7 and The LAB Dance Complex has its own private security system. Our cameras face the window and the front door so we have access to who is entering the building.

Studio Arrival & Departure

When dropping your child off at the studio, please either walk them in, or pull up to the front door and let them out. When picking up, please either enter the building to gather your child or pull up to the front door at the end of their class, so we can see them getting into your car. No child is allowed to enter the parking lot unattended.
